San Francisco, CA

Katya Sorokko Spencer, a first-generation American fluent in Russian, was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She discovered her passion for the theatrical arts at eight years old, beginning her training at the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.).

She studied at the University of Denver, making her professional debut in The Vagina Monologues, while spending summers building a foundation in the entertainment industry at Clear Channel, MTV, Bunim/Murray Productions, and Fear Factor.

After earning her BA in Communications with a minor in Psychology, Katya began her career at lifestyle PR agencies before moving in-house to the global luxury brand RH (Restoration Hardware), where she served as Vice President of PR and Marketing for a decade. This chapter gave her another powerful avenue for storytelling, shaping narratives on a broad stage.

She ultimately came full circle, returning to acting and her artistic path with a focus on film, television, and commercials. Katya has trained with The Groundlings, Joseph Pearlman, and the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, among others. Today, she brings depth and range to her work in drama and comedy, with a fresh perspective that reflects the breadth of her journey.

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
